MEMORY PRISM
Immersive show
October 2025 — TakeOver Beirut
Memory Prism is an immersive installation that transforms the artist’s archive into a spatial environment where studio traces, visual sketches, thought fragments, and sound recordings become perceptual experiences. Process material shifts between revelation and concealment as light, projection, and sound, merge into an evolving field of perception.
The installation invites viewers into an intimate ritual of attention: an encounter with the artist’s inner architectures of memory, perception, transformation and creation — exploring how memory and consciousness can be experienced spatially.
Drawing from over a decade of Ghina Sabra’s multidisciplinary practice—spanning
painting, architecture, lighting, installation and visual art—the
exhibition elevates unfinished, unpublished, and “discarded” works into a
dynamic record of transformation. In dialogue with sonic fragments from
sound designer and award winning field recordist Alex Mitri, the main
installation unfolds as a perceptual performance where both archives
converge. What emerges is the magic of the interaction itself: a dance
of resonance, dissonance, accident, play, and discovery across senses.
The installation is both a poetic system and a technical organism — a
choreography of art, light, sound, and code that translates emotion into
motion, and thought into vibration. Fragments of my own reflections —
written notes, sketches, and inner dialogues that trace the process of
creation itself are merged into the projections.Through this interlacing
of material, sound, data, Memory Prism becomes a sensorial meditation on
creative consciousness, and an exploration of the thresholds between man
machine and medium.
